Michelle M. McNamara, M.D.

Michelle M. McNamara, M.D. completed her MD at Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, IL, while serving as a captain in the Army Reserve.   She trained as a nuclear medicine resident at Stanford University Hospital, serving a year as Chief Resident, and subsequently finished a radiology residency at St. Francis Hospital, in Evanston, IL.
After completing her fellowship in abdominal imaging at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Dr. McNamara joined the faculty at UAB, and has since had the distinction of serving as Medical Student Director and Chief of GI Radiology.  Dr. McNamara has served on several committees both within the University (Radiology Protocol Oversight Review Committee, Radiology Student Education Committee Chair, UAB Faculty) as well as serving on the UAB Faculty Senate. She also serves on national councils and committees such as ACR Appropriateness Criteria Expert Panel on Gastrointestinal Imaging, AMSER committees, ABR Case Submission Committee and ABR Diagnostic Radiology GI SAM Review Committee.
Dr. McNamara’s area of Clinical practice is Gastrointestinal Imaging.
