Cecil Morgan Eiland, M. D., completed his medical school training at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in 1972. He spent his first post-graduate year at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, doing a rotating internship in internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and general surgery. He returned to UAB for his Diagnostic Radiology residency which he completed in 1976. Following his residency, he entered private practice in Birmingham, Alabama, with Radiology Associates of Birmingham covering several private hospitals as well as the Children's Hospital of Alabama. During that time, he served as department chair at The Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham and Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama. Following 25 years with Radiology Associates, he was a staff radiologist at Cooper Green/Mercy Hospital and a private outpatient radiologist with Image South in Birmingham, specializing in musculoskeletal and neurological radiology, including outpatient procedures. Dr. Eiland has been a part-time general radiologist at the VA Medical Center for five years.
