Dr. Danila is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is an investigative rheumatologist with a particular focus on personalizing care of patients with rheumatic diseases. She has a special interest in improving quality of care of patients with chronic conditions, such as arthritis and autoimmune diseases, by implementing evidence-based recommendations into routine practice and optimizing treatment adherence. Her K23 NIAMS-funded patient-oriented career development award is focused on understanding the relationship between the human genome, the environment and the development and outcomes of rheumatoid arthritis in African Americans.
