National Enhancement of UnderRepresented Academic Leaders

The National Enhancement of UnderRepresented Academic Leaders (NEURAL) meeting is an annual regional conference - the only one of its kind - specifically designed to capture and engage the broader community of underrepresented neuroscience graduate trainees. Since 2014, the NEURAL conference annually hosts approximately 150 UAB and Non-UAB underrepresented trainees, including minority students and students with disabilities, to participate in professional development workshops, poster and oral presentations. Importantly, the NEURAL Conference features world-renowned keynote speakers sharing their science and speaking on the challenges they've endured in their professional growth. The conference gives UAB Roadmap Scholars the opportunity to develop leadership skills by helping to determine the conference agenda.
