Get to Know Our Brands
UAB Heersink School of Medicine
Use the UAB Heersink School of Medicine brand for endeavors that are related to research, fundraising, education (residency and fellowship programs) or internal communication to faculty and staff.
UAB Medicine
UAB Medicine is the name and primary brand for clinical facilities and services. UAB Medicine logos and branding should always be used when communicating with patients/potential patients and referring physicians. More information about UAB Medicine brand can be found here.
University of Alabama at Birmingham
The global campus logos and marks are seen throughout our other branding and is the umbrella brand that we fall under. The full brand toolkits include information on fonts, colors, logos, templates and downloads are located here.
Surgery Templates
Using correctly branded PowerPoint and poster templates is a great way to promote UAB while at conferences, meetings, or when presenting to patients and families. Consistently using these materials can help demonstrate the impact UAB Surgery faculty and employees are making on a particular field or area.

Logos
Logos are an important part of brand identity, and we ask that all employees use the correct logos on all materials. Logos are not to be modified in any way. If you need a logo created for a specific use, submit UAB’s Request Logo form here.
As part of the brand update, logos are no longer available for individual units. Please use the UAB Heersink School of Medicine logo and follow the Academic Department Guidelines to develop materials for your individual departments. Contact surgcomm@uabmc.edu for assistance and guidance.

Merchandise & Promotional Items
Units are only able to purchase UAB-branded merchandise (pens, t-shirts, jackets, etc.) for promotional or internal distribution from a list of approved vendors. Please refer to the list and process for approval of merchandise. This is applicable to purchases made with UAB or HSF funds.
