About the Morton Family

The Morton Family Endowed Lectureship in Vascular Sciences was established by the Morton family to honor the loving memory of their parents. It was also established in appreciation for the quality care provided by the surgical faculty and residents of the UAB Division of Vascular Surgery and the Department of Surgery. The love, hard work, support, compassion and moral guidance of their parents, B.E. ‘Sunshine’ Morton (1911-1963) and Dorothy P. Morton (1912-2004) served as a powerful example and inspiration, and was their enduring legacy to their children and grandchildren.

The faculty of the Division of Vascular Surgery and the UAB Department of Surgery, its residents, and staff express their gratitude to Mr. Barry Morton and Mr. Bill Morton for their generous support with the establishment of this endowment and lecture series.
