Biography

Dr. Bryant joined the department in 2008 after having been in private practice for 18 years with the Northwood Clinic, a large multi-specialty clinic in Birmingham, Ala. He is the Ambulatory Clinical Director for Urology at The Kirklin Clinic and is the Medical Director for Surgical Subspecialties at Kirklin Clinic and of the urologic inpatient floor of UAB Hospital.

He sees general urology patients with an emphasis on complex stone disease, prosthetic surgery, and genitourinary cancers. He performs robotic renal and reconstructive surgery, endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery, as well as open procedures. Dr. Bryant also operates one day a week at the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center.

In 2016 he received advanced training at Indiana University in performing Holmium Enucleation of the Prostate. Dr. Bryant is one of the few urologists in the southeast to offer radical perineal prostatectomy for the surgical treatment of prostate cancer. He serves as collaborative principal investigator for several ongoing clinical trials for incontinence and prostate cancer, and participates in clinical trials in bladder cancer and stone disease. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, and the American Medical Association.
