In our institution-wide effort, The Campaign for UAB: Give Something, Change Everything, we seek to expand educational and cultural opportunities, advance research and patient care, and fuel economic development. Through the campaign, the Department of Urology seeks support for the following priorities:
- Research: Funding for novel and innovative research projects, in the realm of clinical, translational, and basic science urologic research led by our residents and faculty.
- Education: Funding for educational programs, including residents, and to mentor young clinical investigators within the program.
- Clinical Programs: Establishment of support for clinical programs, in the areas of urologic subspecialties including urologic cancer, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, urologic stone disease, female reconstruction, urinary incontinence, infertility, pediatric urology, and benign prostatic conditions.
- Endowments: Establishment of endowed chairs, fellowships, lectureships, and
scholarships.
In an effort to support these priorities, we have a number of different philanthropic missions:
Department of Urology Research and Education Fund
Supports the breadth of innovative research and educational endeavors led by the faculty in the Department of Urology.
Department of Urology Residency Program Fund
Fosters educational programs for the residents in the Department of Urology including didactic continuing medical education programs.
Keith Lloyd, M.D. Resident Meeting Endowed Support Fund
Provides funding to help support residents attending research and educational meetings.
Urologic Oncology Research Fund
Builds a strong effort to advance cancer research and care in our Division of Urologic Oncology through clinical trials and laboratory investigations.
