UAB's Discussion Book Dialogues continues Oct. 20.

grandinbookUAB will continue a series of free lectures Oct. 20, 2011, as part of its Discussion Book Dialogues for the 2011 selection, “Thinking in Pictures: My Life with Autism,” by Temple Grandin.

The lecture, “Personal Stories of a Successful Individual with Autism” will be presented by Karen Bowen Dahle, Ph.D., associate professor in the UAB School of Education, within the UAB College of Arts and Sciences.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 549 of UAB’s Heritage Hall Building, 1401 University Blvd.

Discussion Book Dialogues will take place every third Thursday of the month from September through April 2012. The goal of the dialogues is not to push a particular agenda but to provide information to help people make more informed decisions about relevant issues. Snacks are provided.
