UAB, Birmingham City Schools present Art Competition and Exhibition

Twenty-eight students from Carver, Huffman, Parker, Ramsey and Woodlawn high schools will participate in the third annual Art Competition and Exhibition, March 5-8 at UAB.

art competitionThe University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Art and Art History will host and co-sponsor Birmingham City Schools’ third annual High School Art Competition and Exhibition.

Twenty-eight students from Carver, Huffman, Parker, Ramsey and Woodlawn high schools will participate. With the BCS Fine Arts and Community Education Department and the UAB Office of Enrollment Management, the UAB DAAH will present the showcase with a reception from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the UAB Humanities Building Arts Gallery, 900 13th St. South. Student works will be juried by DAAH faculty members Doug Barrett, Noa Turel and James Alexander. Students will receive awards at the reception in the areas of painting,drawing, printmaking, digital media, mixed media and sculpture. Forstall Art Supply has partnered with UAB Department of Art and Art History Chair Lauren Lake to provide the best of show award.
