UAB launches podcast sharing memories from the past 50 years

A new podcast shares the memories of the UAB community.

Podcast2Memories come from people’s stories. The University of Alabama at Birmingham continues to celebrate its 50th Anniversary by sharing memories from the community through a new podcast, UAB Memories.

Through UAB’s oral history project, discoveries, learning experiences, laughter, tears and innovation that have created a world-class university over the past 50 years are captured.

Currently, there are four episodes available, with new episodes airing weekly. Listen to learn more about what UAB means to individuals, their travels around the world, what it is like to work for UAB’s past presidents, the different career paths students have taken over the years and more.

The podcast is hosted by Will Singleton, UAB’s podcast editor and Katie Turpen, UAB’s social media manager. Subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Overcast, Spotify, PocketCast, Breaker, Castro, RadioPublic, Castbox, TuneIn, IHeartRadio, Soundcloud and Stitcher.

Those interested in sharing their story can visit the UAB Memories sound booth located in Lister Hill Library through December, or submit your written story via www.uab.edu/50/memories.
