The Magic City Choral Society will host a concert to benefit HIV/AIDS service organizations.

AIDSconcertpic2It’s been 30 years since the first cases of HIV/AIDS appeared, and the fight to find a cure continues. The Magic City Choral Society will hold a Red Ribbon Concert at 6 p.m. Oct. 2, 2011, to raise money for Birmingham-area AIDS service organizations, including UAB’s comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment center, the 1917 Clinic.

The concert will feature the men’s and women’s choruses of the Magic City Choral Society. Musical highlights include “You Raise Me Up,” arranged by chorus associate conductor Rob Bradley, and “An Abbey Road Valentine,” a Beatles medley arranged by chorus accompanist Ty Thornton.

The event will be held at the Leslie S. Wright Fine Arts Center at Samford University. Ticket prices start at $17. Call 205-726-2853 or visit www.magiccitychoralsociety.org.
