UAB to kick off ‘Big Ideas’ series

Gregory Pence, Ph.D., will discuss “Should We Clone People?”

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Philosophy will host a new series called “Big Ideas” where a professor will address an important philosophical topic, followed by a discussion. It will kick off on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, with Gregory Pence, Ph.D., department chair, who will discuss “Should We Clone People?” The event will take place at 6 p.m. in the Spencer Honors House, 1190 10th Ave. South.

The next in the series will be “When in Rome ... Culture and Morality,” led by David Morrow, Ph.D., assistant professor of philosophy, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in the Honors House.

Events are free and open to the public. They are co-sponsored by the UAB Philosophy Club.
