The UAB School of Medicine will celebrate Match Day 2015 on Friday, March 20, in the Alabama Theater, 1817 Third Ave. North. On Match Day, medical school graduates learn where they will carry out their residency training and in which medical specialty.
The first match will be announced at 11 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and a short program begins at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will be streamed live at www.uab.edu/matchday.
Match Day is coordinated by the National Resident Matching Program, which provides an impartial venue for matching residency programs with the 17,000 U.S. medical school students and 15,000 independent applicants — including graduates from international medical and U.S. osteopathic schools — who compete for available positions each year.
