Frankly Speaking about Lung Cancer

The Nov. 10 workshop will provide information and resources for lung cancer patients.

lung cancer2November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and the American Lung Association in Alabama, with support from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center, will host Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer, a free workshop for people affected by lung cancer.

Mollie deShazo, associate professor in the UAB Division of Hematology and Oncology, will provide fundamental information about the most current lung cancer treatments, strategies for symptom/side-effect management, and tools for survivorship. The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6 - 8 p.m. in Iberia Bank, second floor Board Room, located at 2340 Woodcrest Place, Homewood, AL 35209.

The workshop will streamline crucial resources for patients and include a complimentary copy of the booklet Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer, created by Cancer Support Community. Dinner will be served.
