leadership uab greenThe University of Alabama at Birmingham has announced its 2016 Leadership UAB class.

Leadership UAB was established in 2008 as a way to enhance the understanding of UAB’s vision, mission and ongoing endeavors for young professionals throughout the Birmingham community. Each class includes a broad range of individuals from various corporate, civic and volunteer backgrounds. These dynamic business and community leaders were nominated by individuals in their respective industries and were selected because of their leadership abilities and community-mindedness.

At events throughout the year, members will learn about the exciting research, medical, educational and entrepreneurial activities taking place at UAB. Through their participation in Leadership UAB, members will also better understand UAB’s role in the community and will become important ambassadors for and partners of the university.

“It’s a privilege to have young professionals, who are the future leaders in Birmingham and Alabama, involved with Leadership UAB,” said UAB President Ray L. Watts. “As participants meet with leaders, faculty and staff on campus they will gain a better understanding about all aspects of UAB’s mission, its role in the community, and how they can play an important part in our continued growth and development.”
