2018 Color Run to benefit UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center

Oak Mountain High School will host the fifth annual Color Run 5K at Oak Mountain State Park on March 17 to raise money for cancer research at UAB.

color run webThe Oak Mountain High School Student Government Association is hosting the third annual Color Run at Oak Mountain State Park, with proceeds to solely benefit cancer research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. The run is held in memory of Donald R. Ellison and Susan A. Powers, and will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 17.

The 5K race will start at 9 a.m., and participants will be doused with colorful, nontoxic, washable paint during the run. Register online .

Participants who preregister will have the option to purchase an official Oak Mountain Color Run T-shirt. Participants who register on the day of the race may bring their own white shirts. Participants 18 and younger must have parents sign a waiver, which will be available on-site. The run will go on rain or shine.

Oak Mountain State Park is at 200 Terrace Drive in Pelham.

  • $5 per Adult (age 12+)
  • $2 per Child (age 4 to 11)
  • $2 per Senior (age 62+)
  • Free for ages 3 and under
  • 8-8:45 a.m. Registration
  • 8:50 a.m. Opening Ceremonies
  • 9 a.m. Oak Mountain Color Run Begins! (5K only)
  • 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at the conclusion of the 5K

Other information:

  • There will be booths and refreshments on-site with special items for auction
  • Coffee and donuts for early birds
  • To warm up, FREE Zumba will be offered from 7:45-8:45 a.m.
  • City Bowls food truck will be on-site with 20 percent of proceeds going to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center
  • Donations for the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center will be accepted on-site
