UAB’s School of Optometry will conduct free infant eye exams April 23

The annual InfantSEE® Day pediatric eye examinations are designed to ensure eye and vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness.

infantsee 2018The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry will conduct free eye examinations for infants between ages 6 and 12 months through InfantSEE®, a public health program in optometry designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness to improve a child’s quality of life. The event will take place at UAB Eye Care, 1716 University Blvd., in the Pediatric Optometry Clinic on Monday, April 23, from 1-5 p.m.

The program was developed in 2005 by the American Optometric Association and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. Nationwide, the InfantSEE® program has been responsible for discovering retinal cancers and other vision-threatening disorders in infants.

UAB Eye Care Pediatric Optometry Services is currently accepting patients for future appointments. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 205-934-3058.
