Welch is an assistant professor of Philosophy who specializes in social and political philosophy. She primarily focuses on the intersection of the family and public policies; specifically interested in whether and when broad social justice goals might constrain individuals making what have historically been taken to be private family decisions (e.g., where to send one's child to school). Her most recent research examines consumer obligations regarding diversity and inclusion in children's literature and other social platforms.
