Todak’s research focuses on critical issues in policing and corrections. Her main research areas include police use of technology, such as TASERS and body-worn cameras; the effects of diversity in criminal justice and the unique experiences of minority criminal justice employees; mental health and wellness in police and corrections officers; and use of force and de-escalation strategies.
She is currently studying women’s experiences with promotion, special assignment, and leadership in policing, and the prevalence of PTSD in correctional officers.
