Davies is an expert in cardiac valvular disease, which includes a special interest in transcatheter aortic valvular disease. As the director of the division of cardiothoracic surgery, Davies has lead UAB to performed more transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR) than any other hospital in the state, and he personally performs more than 100 annually. Through this volume, Davies has an excellent understanding of the disease process and the surgical treatment of vascular heart disease.
Davies can also speak to clinical research related to outcomes analysis in adult cardiac surgery and analysis and development of endovascular techniques in adult cardiac surgery.
