An assistant professor in the School of Health Professions, Xavier is able to speak about an array of illnesses. As director of academic education with UAB's physician assistant program, she helps train the next generation of physician assistants. Xavier has witnessed much in her work with the local homeless population. Every week she works with clients to confront multiple barriers to their care. She volunteers as the medical supervisor for the student-led Firehouse Shelter Wellness Clinic, which provides free access to health care for the homeless at the Birmingham shelter. Xavier is also a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.
