McClintock studies freshwater, estuarine and marine environments of the southeastern United States. He is one of 25 nationwide scientists developing a definitive report on the effects of climate change and leads annual educational Climate Change Challenge cruises to Antarctica. He takes regular expeditions with tourists, students and researchers to the White Continent on educational Climate Change Challenge cruises.
