Zhai, who also serves as director of the UAB Community Counseling Clinic, conducts research on the intersection of telemedicine, infectious diseases, and mental health. His work also delves into social determinants of health, multicultural and social justice concerns, and career development. With experience in clinical supervision, mental health counseling, career guidance, and substance abuse counseling, he collaborates with diverse clients. Zhai’s efforts aim to inform health policies and clinical practices, addressing health disparities and educational inequities.
