Tector, co-director of UAB’s Xenotransplant Program, is a liver transplant surgeon with clinical expertise in multi-visceral and small bowel transplantation and is one of the leading xenotransplant researchers in the United States with a funded, nationally recognized research program in xenotransplantation.

He also is the associate editor of “Xenotransplantation Journal” and editorial board member of the “World Journal of Transplantation” and “Xenotransplantation Journal.” Tector is an ad hoc reviewer for the “Annals of Surgery,” “American Journal of Transplantation” and the “British Journal of Surgery.”
