McCormick is an expert in emergency management. She is able to speak to how to plan for and respond to an emergency, such as a natural disaster or a public health outbreak. She has worked with state and local public health departments to create plans and response systems.
Her research focuses on public health preparedness and response, the organization of response systems, and training public health workforces to respond to emergencies. She is also able to discuss how to respond to natural disasters and health epidemics.
