Virtual discussion of changing health policies relating to aging populations and COVID-19

UAB School of Public Health hosts Harvard expert for talk on new health care policy changes for geriatric patients.

Sean M McMahon 5 18 IGFBThe University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Lister Hill Center for Health Policy will sponsor a seminar, “The Care of Older Adults in a Post-Pandemic World,” led by David Grabowski, Ph.D., leading national expert on the economics of aging and long-term care.

The free webinar on Tuesday, May 18, at 1 p.m., is the second installment of a seminar series co-sponsored by UAB’s Lister Hill Center and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama Endowed Chair in Health Economics.

Approaches to care for aging populations have dramatically shifted in the past 15 months due to the effects of COVID-19. Grabowski, professor in the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard University, will discuss the policy landscape for geriatric care in the post-pandemic era.
