Yolanda Harris wins award for Child Neurology Nursing

A UAB nurse practitioner has received an award from the Association of Child Neurology Nurses.

nursing_briefYolanda Harris, R.N., M.S.N., has won the Clair Chee Award for Excellence in Child Neurology Nursing from the Association of Child Neurology Nurses. Harris is the pediatric nurse practitioner for the Center for Pediatric Onset Demyelinating Disease based at UAB and Children’s of Alabama. She is also a clinical instructor for nurse practitioner trainees in the UAB School of Nursing.

The Claire Chee award, given annually, recognizes and honors the nurse who, as a member of the ACNN, has rendered distinguished service within the profession of child neurology nursing. The recipient demonstrates, through strength of character and competence, a commitment to the care of children and their families with neurological disorders and is acknowledged by their peers as someone who renders compassion, resourcefulness, leadership, knowledge, communication and inspiration.
