Cancer Center to showcase Progress & Promise

The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center's annual report will be presented for the the community Dec. 12.

UAB_PP_storyThe UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center will present “Progress & Promise,” its annual report to the community, Dec. 12, 2011, at UAB’s Alys Stephens Center beginning at 6 p.m.

Cancer Center Director Edward Partridge, M.D., will provide an update on the latest advancements in cancer research and future plans. Cancer Center faculty Donald Buchsbaum, Ph.D., and Pablo Arnoletti, M.D., will speak about groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research, and pancreatic cancer survivor Denny LaVercombe of Helena, Ala., will share his personal story. Ed Meyerson, immediate-past president of the Advisory Board, will present a brief history of the center in honor of its 40th anniversary.
