Nanda given lifetime achievement award

Nanda lauded for his pioneering contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Nanda, M.D., distinguished professor of medicine in the UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease and director of the echocardiography laboratories at UAB, was presented a lifetime achievement award for “pioneering contributions in the field of cardiac pacing and electrophysiology” by the Indian Heart Rhythm Society at their meeting in conjunction with the Heart Rhythm Society on May 9, 2012 in Boston.

Calambur Narasimhan, M.D., society president, said of Nanda, “many physicians, cardiologists and electrophysiologists know you as an established physician scientist and a leader in the field of echocardiography. But not many know of the pioneering work you have done in establishing the role of echo in the field of heart rhythm disorders. This award is conferred in recognition of the outstanding work you have done in this area.”
