The Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a Chinese tradition that began more than 2,000 years ago. Under the direction of Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang, the troupe’s performances combine dazzling acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques to present a show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty.

Based in Hebei, China, the troupe has toured the United States continuously since 1985, collecting numerous awards.

The group made its Broadway debut in 2005 to a sold-out audience and received two New York Drama Desk award nominations, for unique theatrical experience and choreography, for the troupe’s six-week run.

The performance is part of the Alys Stephens Center’s World on Stage Festival. Throughout the festival, witness a sampling of diverse performers that represent unique cultures and artistic expression from around the globe.

Tickets are $45.50, $35.50, $25.50; student tickets $20; $15 kid-friendly tickets. Call 205-975-2787 or visit www.AlysStephens.org.
