Emily Boohaker, M.D., associate professor in the UAB School of Medicine’s Division of General Internal Medicine and chief quality and patient safety officer for the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, has been recognized by the YMCA of Greater Birmingham for her dedication and commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. Boohaker is one of three doctors acknowledged as a YMCA Physician Champion For Health. She was cited for her leadership as the chair of the Community Advisory Board for the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program.
