The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees appointed Massoud A. Leesar, M.D., the first holder of the Baker-Dean Endowed Professorship in Interventional Cardiology in the Department of Medicine during its meeting June 15, 2012. Leesar joined UAB in 2012 as a professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease.
Leesar will be the inaugural holder of an endowed professorship in cardiology.
