  • February 09, 2011

Jamy Ard, M.D., medical director for the UAB EatRight Weight Management Services and associate professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences, has been named associate dean for clinical affairs in the School of Health Professions. One of Ard’s responsibilities will be to search for opportunities to consult and develop programs for businesses and the community on health related issues.

“We have the resources and expertise in our school to address community needs,” said Harold Jones, Ph.D., dean of the school. “Dr. Ard has successfully developed and implemented several clinical nutrition programs for community groups and employers and it’s logical to have his leadership to guide our school in this new endeavor that will benefit the community.”
Ard will be looking for opportunities to partner with business for all five departments in the school, clinical and diagnostic sciences, health services administration, nutrition sciences, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
