The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees appointed David Corliss, O.D., Ph.D., as associate professor emeritus of vision sciences in the Department of Vision Sciences in the UAB School of Optometry during its meeting Feb. 4, 2011. Corliss received his Doctor of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Optometry and his Ph.D. from UAB. He joined the UAB faculty in 1976 and served in various positions, including Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
