I’m honored to help lead this next major step for science education in Alabama, and thankful for UAB’s critical support of the sciences and science education.”

The committee will also compare Alabama’s content expectations for students against those of the most educationally advanced nations, research promising models to raise student achievement, and develop a plan to promote excellence in the teaching and learning of science in Alabama.

In his work at UAB, Meadows focuses on science teacher preparation and science education reform in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. He has also taught high school chemistry, physics and physical science, and college chemistry, general teaching methods and science methods.
