In addition, in a second bibliometric analysis, the Nicholses were named 12 and 13 among the top 15 most productive authors in international dry eye disease research out of over 13,800 unique authors of articles on dry eye. They are the only two optometrists named.

“The study of dry eye disease is something we continue to emphasize here at the School of Optometry, from our Dry Eye Relief Clinic to our team’s ongoing published research on the disease,” Kelly Nichols said. “Being recognized by the authors in The Ocular Surface journal is a great honor and reflects our continued commitment to translational dry eye research.”
