Summerlin will serve on a six-member national committee responsible for selecting the assembly’s Notable Children’s Books of 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Paul Campbell Erwin, M.D., DrPH, who received his medical degree from the UAB School of Medicine, returns to Birmingham to lead the School of Public Health.
Six students will travel abroad to study, teach or conduct research for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The awards are for Samantha Richardson’s work for the Fountain Heights community, which she completed as a student.

Lisa Willett, M.D., was elected as president-elect of the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine.
Jenkins’ clinical occupational therapy career included working in the National Health Service (U.K.) within orthopedics, elderly rehabilitation, neurology and the management of severe physical disability.
Brown was elected by the society’s members and will begin her term in November.
