Anne Turner-Henson, D.S.N., professor in the Department of Community Health, Outcomes and Systems in the UAB School of Nursing, has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for her work on the agency’s Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee, a federal advisory committee that advises the EPA on regulations, research, science, technical, outreach, communication and economic issues related to environmental health issues among children.
As a member of the CHPAC committee, Turner-Henson participated in task groups working on a number of issues including preschool settings and Head Start/Early Head Starts as learning environments; asthma disparities and indoor environments; and rulemaking for the National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
