UAB has selected a dynamic class of young professionals to become its ambassadors.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has announced its 2013 Leadership UAB class — a group of community advisors comprising young professionals and volunteers offering their support to the university. This year’s class represents a cross-section of Birmingham’s corporate, civic and volunteer organizations.

Throughout the year, members will get a deeper understanding of UAB’s vision and mission, as well as its ongoing endeavors, so that they may become ambassadors in the service of the university.

“What makes this program unique is the mutual benefit to the participants and the University,” said Shirley Kahn, Ph.D., vice president of university development. “UAB positively benefits all areas of our community, so in cultivating ongoing service to the university, Leadership UAB is empowering these young professionals to better the city we all call home.”
