mayor bell wMayor William Bell will discuss science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in Birmingham City Schools at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 23. The event, free and open to the public, will take place at the Edge of Chaos, located on the fourth floor of the Lister Hill Library, 1720 Second Ave. South. The event is sponsored by the UAB Community and Science Investigations (C&SI) graduate student group and the Graduate Student Association.

The organization also invites various speakers onto campus to engage in talks about either STEM education, career development for graduate students or any topic they feel the UAB community would find of interest. The mayor was invited to explain city efforts to provide STEM education and improve low standardized test scores.
