UAB to host speed-matching event for community service

  • January 22, 2014
Successful matches result in real community problem solving and hands-on learning for students.
The UAB Office of Service Learning will host its second annual Campus-Community Speed Matching event on Friday, Feb. 14. Birmingham community nonprofits will pitch their most interesting and challenging projects in five minutes or less to groups of rotating UAB faculty and students. The event will take place at the Edge of Chaos located on the fourth floor of the Lister Hill Library, 700 University Blvd.

Successful matches result in real community problem solving and hands-on learning for students. Last year, more than 80 percent of the projects were successfully matched.

Lunch is free to registrants. To sign up, contact Libba Vaughan, director of Service Learning, at libbav@uab.edu.
