constructionThe UAB Construction Engineering Management Program was recently rated third in the nation, according to AffordableCollegesOnline.org in its third annual ranking for the 2015-2016 Best Online Construction Management Programs.

“I have always known we are very price-competitive, but more important than that to me is my personal conviction that the content of our curriculum and the way we deliver are the best out there,” said Wilbur “Bill” Hitchcock, Ph.D., director of UAB’s CEM program. “We are diligently working to expand our program, and this ranking validates the work we’re doing to provide quality education and training at an affordable price.”

“In addition to quality education and training at an affordable price, we offer exceptional customer care and attention coupled with relevant real-world information,” said Dianne Gilmer, CEM program assistant director. “Our program content is extremely meaningful in the global economy.”

A construction management degree prepares students to be successful in a variety of roles within the construction sector.

“We wanted to highlight the schools that are ensuring their online construction management degrees are excellent,” said Dan Schuessler, CEO and founder of AC Online. “These institutions are preparing students to be successful in a field expected to grow by 16 percent by 2022.”

Ranked schools meet a number of criteria and metrics, including:

  •  Must be a public or private, not-for-profit institution
  • Must offer at least one fully online bachelor’s degree program
  • Academic and counseling services
  • Job placement for graduates

Affordable Colleges Online has distinguished its ranking scale by the use of Peer-Based Value. The PBV score compares the cost of each program to the cost of similar programs with the same qualitative score.
