BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Hal Abroms wanted to honor his wife Judy for their 60th anniversary. So, to celebrate his love for her - and their shared love and appreciation for the arts - Abroms purchased and dedicated his wife's favorite seat at UAB's Alys Stephens Center.

Now everyone can have that opportunity. The center is offering patrons the chance to dedicate a seat in the center's extraordinary Jemison Concert Hall.

Seats can be dedicated in a person's name, in honor or in memory of someone or in celebration of a special occasion such as a marriage, anniversary, birth, graduation or any memorable moment. This is an unforgettable gift that will last a lifetime and help to preserve the Alys Stephens Center as an inspirational place where everyone can share a love of the performing arts together.

The seat options include: Select Seats, in the upper balcony and choral balcony, for $500; Prime Seats in the front orchestra, rear orchestra, rear mezzanine, dress circle and loge, for $1,250; or Premium Seats in the center orchestra, front mezzanine, dress circle, or the choice of any seat, for $2,500.

When a seat is dedicated, a personalized message will be inscribed on a brass plaque that will be prominently displayed on the armrest.

For more information or to dedicate a seat, contact Lili Anderson, director of development, at lilida@uab.edu or call 205-934-6196.
