BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Business has named Abby Westerhold its new associate director of Leadership Giving. Westerhold will oversee alumni relations and annual individual-donor and corporate-giving initiatives.

A former recruitment coordinator for the business school, Westerhold transitions from generating new-student interest in the school to enlisting the support of graduates and other community leaders to champion School of Business initiatives. An estimated 7,000 UAB business graduates live and work in the greater Birmingham area.

"In her previous roles with the UAB Admissions Office and as a recruitment coordinator, Abby gained extensive experience in communicating all that UAB has to offer the community, and those talents make her a great fit for the School of Business development office," said Erik Kahill, senior director of external affairs for the school.

"She is a natural fit to solicit increased support of UAB and the School of Business from our alumni base in Birmingham," Kahill said.

School of Business alumni and supporters can reach Westerhold at awesterhold@uab.edu or 205-934-8810.
