Fuller Receives 2014 AANA Student Excellence Award

Elizabeth Fuller SRNAElizabeth Fuller, RN, BSN, a graduate student in the nurse anesthesia program in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing, has received the 2014 American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Student Excellence Award. Laura Wright, CRNA, PhD, MNA, Associate Professor in the UAB School of Nursing nominated Fuller for her exceptional leadership, scholarship and service.

Fuller serves as a student representative of the Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists (ALANA), is ranked in the top 10 percent of her class, and is actively involved in the community.

ALANA president Jennifer Overton stated, "Elizabeth seems to have realized very early in her anesthesia career that leadership happens by example, that with great effort, one person can truly make a difference and be a change force."

Fuller will be recognized at the association's Student Luncheon which will be held Monday, September 15 during the AANA Annual Congress in Orlando, Fla.
