The ANA advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the rights of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and by lobbying Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.

Rhodes is actively involved in health care policy and currently works as a staff nurse in the Surgical ICU at UAB Hospital. He earned his bachelor’s in nursing from Clemson University in 2013. Rhodes is set to graduate from UAB’s Nursing Health Systems Administration (NHSA) master’s program in 2016.
