Nursing organization recognized at 2016 UAB Student Excellence Awards Ceremony

UABSNAUABSNA members at the awards ceremonyThe University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Student Nurses Association (SNA) received the Outstanding Student Organization Award during the University’s 2016 Student Excellence Awards ceremony held in the Hill Student Center Ballroom on Monday, April 11, 2016.

The UABSNA is a local chapter of the National Student Nurses' Association, providing information and community interaction for nursing students and faculty of UAB. Assistant Professor Summer Langston, DNP, CRNP, ACNP-BC, AACC, serves as the faculty advisor for the group.

The award recognizes a group of students or a student organization for its success and support of student development, leadership, and campus/community involvement. The organization selected for the award models as a shining example to other organizations throughout the year, based on all aspects of organization responsibility, including, quality of programming, active participation of membership, successful recruiting and organization management.

The Student Excellence Awards Ceremony is held annually and is an opportunity to honor UAB students’ exceptional achievements. The UAB SNA also won the Outstanding Student Organization Award Award in 2014.
