Post-Doctoral Fellow Nicholas Dionne-Odom named UAB “Most Esteemed” Postdoc of the Year

June2014 DionneOdom Nick 2University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing Post-Doctoral Fellow J. Nicholas Dionne-Odom, PhD, RN, has received the “Most Esteemed” Postdoc of the Year Award from the UAB Office of Post-doctoral Education.

Dionne-Odom was nominated by his mentors Marie A. Bakitas, DNSc, NP-C, FAAN, Professor and Marie O’Koren Endowed Chair, and Karen Meneses, PhD, RN, FAAN, Associate Dean for Research, based on his merit, volume of publications, conference presentations and grants received.

Dionne-Odom was recognized for his willingness to help other students, his mentorship role to the Cancer Prevention and Control Training Program and his outstanding publication and presentation record.

Dionne-Odom is currently a post-doctoral fellow in the UAB School of Nursing supported by a National Palliative Care Research Center Career Development Award and was most recently a post-doctoral fellow in UAB's Cancer Prevention and Control Training Program. He is also a Health Disparities Research Training Program Scholar supported by the MSM/TU/UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center Partnership.
