The Richard A. Elkus, M.D., Eminent Scholars Program in GI Oncology Research at UAB

The Richard A. Elkus, M.D., Eminent Scholars Program in GI Oncology Research at UAB pilot grants are open to all UAB faculty who lead an independent research program. This award is intended to "seed" nascent GI cancer projects that will become competitive for extramural funding with data generated as a result of receiving pilot funds. This award is for $50,000 for a 12-month period beginning March 1, 2020.

  • Please submit a three-page description of proposed research and your Biosketch or CV. A list of key personnel, bibliography, budget and letters of support (if any) are also requested and are not included within the three-page limit. The Mary Kay Foundation Cancer Research Grant

The Mary Kay Foundation is currently accepting applications for innovative grants for translational research in ovarian, uterine, breast, or cervical cancer. The program will offer grants up to $100,000 that may be used in a one-year period, or up to two years. Only one grant application will be accepted from each invited cancer research institution or medical school. View the request for proposals.

American Cancer Society - IRG Junior Faculty Development Grant

Deadline: Jan. 6, 2020

The ACS-IRG Junior Faculty Development Grant will provide "seed" money for the initiation of a promising new cancer-related project to obtain prelimary results that facilitate successful competition for a national research grant.
